HiI am new to this forum and hope to get some technical help. For last few days, when I am opening raw images (.nef) files in CS3 - it is showing blue patches in some places. I am sensing that it has got to do with display properties but not able to figure out what needs to be done here. I use a NVIDIA and Windows XP. thanks

ehhh I was asking for RAW file itself, anyway is this happening with every image ? or did you try resetting camera raw settings ?

No, it is not happening with all images. Only with a few of them. I did not reset camera raw setting at all. What could be the reason ?

As Nem say, reset raw settings and try again. Although it could also be a corrupt file!

If raw setting would be an issue, then it will affect all raw images. Why only selective ones are giving problems. And the same files, when I open with Nikon ViewNx - it does not show any pigmentation or discoloration.

Any idea ?

It doesn't take long enough to reset camera raw settings , Does it ? on the other hand I asked you upload the original camera raw file itself so I could take a look at it !

That's showing you shadow clipping.
Shadow clipping shows in blue, highlight clipping shows in red.

The triangle on the top left of the histogram turns the shadow clipping warning off or on, the other one is for highlight clipping.
Keep those on and adjust clipping with the the Blacks & Recovery sliders.
