Quick Question -Selection Duplication

Should be able to with Alpha channels.

- save selection in Alpha
- move active selection around
- ctrl + shift + click to load saved Alpha

Yes?
No?

Other than saving the selection as an Alpha channel so you can load it as many times as you need, (which Stroker suggests), you are going to have to tell us more about your project, I think.

I've never really needed to duplicate a selection before. What are you trying to do? Or are you just wonder'n? \:]

1. Can we duplicate a selection (not the contents) ?
Hmmm... if you mean, can you use the current selection for other layers, the answer is, "YES!" Just leave your selection active and create a new layer. The selection will only affect the current layer.

OR

If you want a selection from one layer to only affect the contents of another layer, (again) leave your selection active and select the layer you want it to affect.

If this isn't what you mean, then Stroker's method is the best way to add the same kind of selection to itself (when moved).

EDIT: Oh yeah almost forgot, you could always jump to the Quick Mask mode (press q) and copy your selection with the Lasso or Marquee tool and paste it wherever you want then jump back out of the Quick Mask (press q again).
