Hi,

I just registered and would like to spend hours and hours here reading and learning, but am a little cramped for time and don't know where to post to get the best response to this question. My system was upgraded to CS4 last week, now the white background in Photoshop has a yellow tinge. I have dual monitors and it looks the same on no matter which monitor I drag the app or individual images to.

Can someone offer a quick, valid response? (THEN as soon as I have time, I promise to read the FAQs and get started correctly!)

TIA

hi, can you let us know what the colour settings are? This may be the problem. Go to EDIT drop down menu and near the bottom is the color settings option, bring this up and a box will appear.
Mine is set to the following, is yours different?:

Settings - Custom

Advance mode (unchecked)
Working Spaces:
RGB - sRGBIEC61966-2.1
CMYK - U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2
Gray - Grey Gamma 2.2
Spot - Dot Gain 20%

Colour management Policies:
RGB - Off
CMYK - Off
Gray - Off
Profile Mismatches (checked)

Thanks so much for posting.

Settings: North America General Purpose 2 (note at top read: Synchronized: Your Creative Suite applications are synchronized using the same color settings for consistent color management)
Working Spaces
RBG sRGB IEC61966-2.1
CMYK: U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2
Gray: Dot Gain 20%
Spot: Dot Gain 20%
Color Management Policies
RGB, CMYK and Gray are all set to: Preserve Embedded Profiles
There are no boxes checked
Conversion Options
Engine: Adobe (ACE)
Intent: Relative Colorimetric
The three boxes are each checked: Use Black Point Compensation, Use Dither (8-bit/channel images), and Compensate for Scene-referred Profiles
Advanced Controls
Neither box is checked

Thank you so much for any assistance you can provide!!!

Cindy.
