Quick Help Needed!

Hi there,

Got a simple job that i need to do on photoshop but my level of skill is making it hard for me to do it.

I have an image of mine, which has three people in the photo. I want to alter the effects/lighting/colour on the face of the man in the middle of the photo to match that of the other two as the face seems to stand out and I want it altering to change the overall appearance of the image.

Could someone please explain to me in basic/beginner terms how to adjust/play around with effects on one persons head only without altering any of the effects on other people in the photo.

If anyone could offer advice on how to do it or would be kind enough to have a go at it for me as I will be more than happy to send the image.

cut out the face make it a new layer, then play with the colour contrast and thing's like that to make it fit in

To add on to what KRF suggested, you can use the pen tool / magic wand to get a selection of only the face of the man in the middle then make a layer. Then, you can go to Image > Adjustments and play around with the effects.

Another easier alternative is, just select the man's face using pen tool / magic wand / quick selection tool etc then do the effects.

The difference between KRF's method and mine is that I don't create a new layer. Cos if I'm not wrong, you just want to alter the lighting on the man's face, so it's a one-time thing, you see. Getting the face over to another layer just allows you to alter the face as and when you like easier.
