ok im new to the boards, hello all

i was wondering how you do transparent layering ? because i've started to figure out photoshop not too long ago and i can only do some layering

and another question is how do you do word arts ? i only figured out how to type it and then use filter tools :/ but i want to do the fancy looking ones

The most basic thing to learn about in Photoshop is the desktop and all its tools and menus. Then the most basic skill is learning the different selection tools. These will be necessary to take a person or object out of it's current surroundings and use it in a different background or create a transparency.

Once you are using the text tool, there are many things in the menu you must be aware of and learn to use. Thre you will find the word art.

Your best bet is to find Photoshop Basics Tutorials. There is no way we will be able to teach you all you need in step by step posts in this forum. You will find some basic tutorials here and you can google for many more.

You must learn to walk before you can run.

Hi,
Even I am new to this forum. Though I have been working on photoshop for a while. Can anyone tell me from where I can download great brushes to work with. I heard there are lots of great patterns available. Can anyone post a link for the same?
