I'm trying to design an Audio Ui. Not for any special reason, just mainly experience. The picture below is as far as I've got. But I now have a couple of questions for you good people.

1.) The sunk in effect of the area around the buttons. I've tried to get it to be all the way round but can't seem to do it.

2.) I want the green lights on the buttons to look glowing but without looking fuzzy. I can get fuzzy or as it is now, but not how I'd like it.

Can someone point me in the right direction please.

well for the bevel look you can cut away a triangle or whatever shape you want from your shape and then apply a stroke to the gray case on the inside I guess that could mimic it a bit better. and then have green shape under the layer with a stroke that connects the 2 strokes together. Or just play with the bevel settings and turn of global light you may have to make your own custom effect on it (a bit like a curves adjustment layer)

as for the glow you could do something like this with an radial gradient over shape and then an inner glow to get the effect you want.

Gives it a subltle glow appearance but depends on your preference you can use this as a starting point if you like here is the layer style.

Edit: I think I misunderstood what you were asking! Still it may be of use to someone :)

Try Stroke with a radial gradient fill - I'll add images!
You'll need to tweak to get it right for yours though.
