question.. Kai's Power Tools download?

Last I knew, KPT was discontinued as seperate series. Instead, they took the best of the different series and bundled them up. No longer developed as far as I know. Called something like KPT Suite or something.

Also, I have never seen a demo of any of KPT for download. If you look around, you might be able to find some second-hand or just plain buy them from Corel(?). If you do get them second-hand, there might be some backwards compatability issues.

It's been awhile since I seriously looked, so I could be wrong on a point or two.

BTW, please use a more descriptive thread title. This time around I took the liberty.

ok thnx stroker...

and sorry for the confusing title :D

i think i'll try to buy it somewhere, but one last question..

do you think it's woth the money ?

Well, Corel didn't do any good to anything they bought. Bryce users are complaining, and KPT are only worth buying if you find KPT5 and/or 6, although they are a bit dated. Either we have gotten accustomed to too much eyecandy, or we have grown too serious.

With5 you also get 3, which works still fine under XPPro and PS7.01, although the interfaces are very small on a monitor larger than 1024x768. I personally find 5 the best set. I found both sets here in a shop that sold its "old" software, and paid the equivalent of some 60 USDollar for both. I've always been fascinated by this plugin, but I must add that I rarely use any of them. I suppose they date from the PS4, perhaps 5 days, and many things have been added to PS itself.

If you want fractals, then Ultrafractal is far superior (Win only), and fraxflame has lost its attractiveness since apophysis came along.
etc etc...

They were great and even outstanding, but, well, it's a bit like lensflares. Or the Chrome filter, or the plasticwrap filter. Or polar coords. A bit too recogniseable.

my idea.

thank you very much erik..
some good information for me.. because i didn't knew much about..

i appreciate the time you stuck into your typing :)

i was wondering about KPT because, when i posted a piece of art (not made by me) in the "showboard" ( http://www.photoshopgurus.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5073 )
you guys told me that it was probably made with KPT or other plugins..

and i am very interested in that kind of art ...

so thank you for your help

That kind of shape can indeed be started from Frax4D (KPT5). Afterwards, you'll need to do a lot of tweaking etc.
