Hello Everyone,
I've got a question about text effect.

Does anyone know how to do it?
Thank You in Andvance. Take care.

Create a new document and set the background colour to Black

grab your text tool with a light grey colour and type your words in

then create a new layer and use a crack or lightning brush (you can download 1 from here http://redheadstock.deviantart.com/art/Lightning-Photoshop-Brushes-37337848 )

Right click that layer and select create clipping mask so it will only effect the text and paint in black clicking randomly to get lightning over the text to look like cracks.

Right click that layer again and select blending options and choose bevel and emboss setting the mode to chisel hard and play with the sliders until your happy

Create a new layer and press Shift+F5 and select fill with 50% grey you should just see grey in your document

set the layer blending mode to overlay

paint in black using a soft edged brush to mimic shadows then paint in white to mimic the highlights

I am not sure if you have uploaded a bad res pic or if that is the effect but you can merge the layers and then go to filter > blur > Gaussian blur if you want the blur effect

Final results and layer panel demo

Oh and if you choose the font impact and do capital letters which I missed out it will look the same as your example.

Thank You Hoogle. And next "sample" if I may.

The images that are in circles. I think it is grunge effect or something like that. But i searched in Web and ... didn't find anythink like this.
Thank You in Advance for help.

probably the same technique using a small brush and holding down the shift key whilst painting so it keeps a straight line.

Then instead of text it is the frames just change textures as well.

Thank You again. Now last question about "effects":

I was wondering how to do things that are in "red circles/shapes".
Thank You in Advance.

Seems ike you are just wanting to copy the original artwork so that you can make your own DVD cover. To me this seems to suspicious and I have the suspicion that you could possibly be using the information provided to possibly be pirating counterfeit goods.

In our century, copying cover it's easy task, isn't it?
You're right i want to do "similiar"! not the same effects.
But ok, if you're saying so .. i won't arguing.
Thanks for answer.

There is a big difference in learning something for yourself to use the technique in some of your own work and to develop your own personal skills further. There is nothing wrong with finding images you like etc and seeing if you can recreate them yourself or using elements of images in your own work.

We are all inspired by somebody else at some point But where do you draw the line. If you intend in copying copyright material then redistributing it for your personal gain is not acceptable hence the reason I asked if it was so you could produce counterfeight copies of the DVDs.

As you can see you have wanted to learn 3 new techniques which is good however when they are all based on the LOST Dvds it raises suspicion.

You Say
"In our century, copying cover it's easy task, isn't it?"
if that is the case why are you asking how to do it.

Everything is Easy when you know how to do it

I asked, because (as You said) - when we're trying to do something, on our ownn - it's better than original, isn't it? But if someone, has no idea how to even start, or where to look - to be more specific - what's the name of effect, what "tools" should i use then it's practicly - impossible to achieve.
I understand Your "position" - new "guy", the same "topic" - i don't even try to argue.
Thanks for answer.
