I am trying to find a tutorial into how can i put an object inside an orb? Does anyone know a tut or does anyone know how to achieve this?

Thanks

Just messin around a bit huh. That's a great tutorial; not exactly 5 minutes though! But I shouldn't speak for you just cuz I'm a slowpoke.

You might want to consider not just the spherize, but maybe a bit of transform>warp. Just thinking; haven't tried it, but I might. I'd like to give that tut a whirl. Thanks Sam I Am!

Good idea!

Yeah, I cruise through these tuts pretty fast, mainly to get a result for the OP. If I like the effect, I will go back and spend a little more time on them as well as adding a few tweaks of my own.

OK, you got me going. Been awhile when I could while away half the afternoon. I made the document larger so it took some playing around to get the fx and blend mode settings similar. Anyway, instead of using warp, I applied the spherize twice, once at 100% and once at 10%. Should probably have increased that to 20 or applied it again to get it to curve more. Or used the warp tool. Had to transform the size of the rock down each time, then I chose an ocean horizon, made a displacement map and applied that to the shadow layer. This was fun. Some very good tips; for eg: I never used overlay on an inner shadow even when I've switched dark to light.

Had to go back and warp it, in addition to the spherize already applied. Also, I noticed that the Rock image highlights changed the globe effects, so I adjusted those. I only did that on this second pic. Didn't spend aq lot of time doing that; the highlight on the right bottom edge needs brightening; actually, it totally disappeared.

Looking great Clare. I like the water BG as well.

I tried your idea of warping.............not sure if I like it.

I added a few other tweaks.

I like your light/dark globe effects. I don't like how hard and bright that tutorial made the highlight' to me, it's too distracting. Your warp treatment is interesting; I like it. It's going to work differently with one image than another. With mine, the spherize just wasn't getting the effect I wanted.

What about a dome? Can a dome round the rock be achieved people?

Certainly, just use the same tutorial and alter the original shape to be more like a dome. In the final product, you may have to warp the dome a little to get the perspective right.

Again, a speedy version that could use some tweaks, especially at the water line......

Got round to trying the tutorial IamSam mentioned earlier in this thread. Around the bottom of page one, mine goes wrong. I'm either not following what he's saying with regards to the layers, or I'm just plain borking it, but what they say I should have and what I get don't match. I triple checked the order of the layers & the fx settings.

It was fine until Step 5. Add more layer styles. Then for some reason, I get lost in the "drag this layer there & that layer here" after that nothing looks like the tut. :(
