This is not the kind of thread I normally start and I am going to really have to credit it to that honey of a worker bee Inkz, this being his (her?) quote after "fixing" a tortured logo by redoing it as a vector:

Easier to redo then fix I guess.

Amen.

So feel free to share your experiences of how this idea has worked for you, whether fixing somebody's work, redoing your own because it didn't make it for you, or some other incident.

I worked in the comic book industry as a colorist up until recently, and I can't even count how many times I've gotten requests to fix line art, fix colors. And of course "hey, I've got flats for you to use if you want. So can you knock down the price a bit." only to find out the flats were done with anti aliasing checked on, thus useless, and I had to redo them anyway.

In most cases, a quick fix is all it takes. But....In this case as ibclare said, it was a tortured logo and only re doing it would suffice.
