Hi,

So I was wanting to know if PSG has a .PDS of the "Fav Icon" or even just the logo, as I am wanting to have a play around with it, and see if I can add my own touche, just for fun.

PS, I think I need a new account, as I am on my "333" post, and to me this is a best number in the world (OCD)

NOW 333 will live in infamy :mrgreen:KRF333.jpg

btw what is "Fav Icon"?

Favicon is what appears when you bookmark a page, it's the little icon that shows in your bookmarks and sometimes next to the web address in your browser window...

I'm stuck with an apple for mine but have to renew my domain soon so.maybe a change is a comin!

renewing your domain and renewing you host are different things, as you host does not need to be renewed untill next year, maybe you'll have to stick with the apple logo lol

Damb, that puts the "333" posts out the window :(

Renewing has nothing to do with a Favicon, it's all based on uploading a file and telling the script where to look, you change your Favicon in a few seconds.. Now will it change on the users browser? I dunno, it all depends how they have there browser caching and clearing..

Just under the title section of your html code, put
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="example.ico" />
you can conver your image into a .ico HERE.

Thanks Mr.Magoo but
Supported OS: Windows XP, 2003, Vista, 7 (no Mac OS/Linux support)

What are you trying to add it to?? You have to make a webpage to add it to, or at least an index page where you have a title of the html document...

You have to upload the .ico file to your server, I don't put favicons in folders on the server like the image folder because it's just easier to put the image name in the code instead of a massive link, and put the code that i put in my last post on your index.html under the title.

This task is made a hell of a lot easier if you can upload by ftp, and you have dreamweaver.

I don't get why you would even want a favicon without html LOL!!! What's the use of having a tiny icon if it's not for using on a website?? You always use the favicon with html...

Spruce, hit the nail on the head once again, if you follow his steps and have a website, then you can use a Favicon, other wise there is no point in having one..

but as the vidoe said you don't need to know HTML, as the browser will look for the .ico file and load it, so again no need for html code, as idad is using a WYSIWYG editor, it is easyer to get him to do it this way. this is why I posted the video :)

o0o!! Yes indeed!! What editor are you using Norm?? You better learn HTML if your going to make websites, it's a must and it's very easy to learn.. You can use any program you want but if you don't know what certain codes mean then it don't matter what editor you use..

I think he uses iWeb, well it's apples WYSIWYG editor, and I have never used it as I don't have a Mac

Should get dreamweaver so you can see the code, and what it's going to look like. I also agree that It is best to spend like a week learning html code. That is all it would take, though i would learn with something like w3schools text class, rather than watching youtube.
