Make a selection of your art work
right click and select create work path
File>export> paths to illustrator then just fill in the colors in the illustrator file.
Or you could just open up the saved image in illustrator select Object>Image Trace > make and expand and that should break each object down to its own layer
Of course this will only apply to simple shapes
