PS CS6 Video Playback

Video playback of camera videos is very choppy on older computers, AKA my computer.
I know if I disable audio I can get smoother playback )although slow motion

Is there anyway to view camera MOV files in real time on an older computer.

No point in upgrading Video Card unless you want to.

Depending on your viewer, adjusting the play settings to a lower setting might help.

How about culling frames as an option?

or converting to lower resolution with less compression if processor is super-snail speed

OK thanks guys.
I want reasonably high quality so lower rez isn't much of an option for me and this is HD video out of the camera so there's no culling frames either.

I don't know much about shooting video so I'll experiment with some of the camera settings.
My laptop is my most powerful computer I do the video on the laptop, I'm not putting a new card in a 5 year old desktop.

OK if anyone is interested, in order to do different types of editing the MOV file needs to be converted into a smart object.
I reloaded the original clips and played them back at a respectable 18fps.
As soon as I converted the layers to smart objects it dropped to 7fps.

Just passing along an observation.
