I'm new to Photoshop and have been experimenting, watching videos, reading articles, that kind of thing, and hit a wall.

I'm attempting to use area type on a photo to add a paragraph, but it is not working. I've used the drag and drop feature with the Type button, I get the textbox, attempt to paste the paragraph (or enter some text as a test) and every single time it insists on running straight across and off the 'page' and not wrapping, like it's point text.:banghead:

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Select your Type Tool. Position the cursor on your canvas, click and drag out a text box.

Go to the source of your text you would like to copy and paste. Highlight the text, copy.

Back in Photoshop with your Type Tool still selected, click once inside the text box, paste your text.

Click once on the text layer in the layers panel to deselect the text box.

If this is not working, let us know.

I've tried to recreate this issue and I can't. I also can't find anything on the net concerning this issue.

You might try resetting the Type Tool.

You could also try right clicking on the text layer and selecting Convert to Paragraph Text.
