Problem with picture display

Hi PSG's i think you can help me to solve this problem.

I am working on a project ie to colour a black & white photo to colour.

While i am working with photoshop CS3 i save the file as .psd containing all the layers in it.

suddenly i lost power,when the power came and i switched to work on the project i opened the saved file.
Now what a crap of rainbow in my document and all the layers are merged into one.

I worked on this about 1 hour and i a have to finish this work in time.so plz help me to solve this PSG's

That's the risk if you don't have an UPS or descent backup, because now I have to bring you the bad news that it's most likely lost (I'm 99,9% sure of that). But heads up, it's only 1 hour work, it's not that much of a disaster.

He would still have a damaged file, even if he had it saved 10 times. If you save multiple times, then make sure you use different file names, but how many people really take the time for this when they have to do that manually?

Like I said, if you live in an area where you have a higher risk of power loss, then buy a UPS. I bought my Belkin UPS very cheap for only $25 after a huge price reduction and it will run my system for almost 30 min. I've also bought software which runs real-time backups and can archive as many copies as I want. Mind you, it doesn't monitor my whole system (would make it too slow), but only a few data folders of specific applications like Office, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.

So when I save a file in Photoshop, the backup monitor program automatically moves the previous file to an archive folder. Not only does this protect me against losing a file after working on it for hours, it also allows me to go back in time, because let's face it... the history in Photoshop is pretty useless for this purpose. The only thing required from the user who uses this program is that he saves often, which I always do.

I don't know about others, but I prefer to have reliable backup procedures (I ididn't even mention half the protections I have installed), because let's be honest... it can be exteremely frustrating if you lose a piece you've been working on for hours, days, maybe weeks or in some cases like Bert Monroy... months. Be protected, I can't repeat that enough... that is if you really care about your data.... not that anyone is listening... at leat that''s my experience, they rather spend their money on (again) a bigger monitor or a faster card.

You still risk power outage, fire, water damage, theft, vandalism, etc. The question remains; how important is your data?

I've been the main beta tester for a program called Auto Save Your Edit by developer by a developer in China, a program that is based on the same principle as this program from Atopsoft, which is using Ctrl+S. However, in reality the whole principle of using Ctrl+S as a simple workaround for auto save is handicapped by the fact that many things can go wrong, which is also one of the reasons why the original developer didn't continue with the product.

As for this program from Atopsoft; it will install itself in \program files\autosave. However, on my computer I have a program installed in \program files\vcom\autosave (real-time backups) and because of this that Atopsoft program installs itself in that directory instead and because it uses some of the same file names (coincident?) it actually destroys the VCom Autosave installation. No harm was done, because? I made a backup first.

So before it runs it can?t even get an installation right and destroys another application which doesn?t sound promising in my opinion.
