Printing colours are different to on screen colours

Probably a simple explanation....but I'm unable to work it out.

I have a simple A5 sized leaflet with blocks of green and some country cottage image. When I try to print it, it comes out more grey/blue and washed out. Tried about a dozen different ways (i'm using an iMac and CS5). Tried using the "photoshop manages colours" and "printer manages colours" and viewing the artwork with the 'Gamut warning" facility to see what colours are not printable. But nothing works. Any suggestions please?

Thank you v much.

I had the same problem recently and tried every possible tip I could find on the net but ended up giving up printing with photoshop. I use canon's own photo printing software with my canon printer and get much more consistent print results than with PS.

Still curious to hear from an expert with a proper solution :)

why don't' you try browsing this forum around a bit. this has been answered quite a few times.
