Hi. I have CS3... and my preview images are gone. All the thumbnails look the same and you have to open one to see what it is? Do you know how this can be fixed?

This happened to me in Bridge when the disk was full, so I would check disk size, permissions, memory.

Thanks so much for responding.. and sorry for my ignorance, but when you say check disk size, etc.. you mean on my laptop? The CS3 Im using is on a removable disc. I get preview images if Im searching for an image on the computer...but no longer if Im doing it through Photoshop.

No problem, nobody know everything ( last man who was able to learn all the knowledge on the Earth was Leonardo da Vinci and it is way back  ) and I do not know a lot either.
Seriously, there are two things coming to my mind, resource shortage and setup. I do not have a clue about where in Photoshop you would change that and since I have CS5 I do not think it makes sense to dig into it, somebody more knowledgeable than me will write it here. I know for sure Bridge saves its previews in one specific file in each directory, but I think Photoshop uses its cache. So check the cache and scratch disk(s). It does not matter whether it is internal or external drive, important is, how they are configured in Photoshop properties.
I assume you already tried to refresh the list of preview images, correct ?

So sorry to ask this, but Im a newbie practically fresh out the box.

I tried looking in preferences, but Im not seeing what disk photoshop is using. Do you know how I can find this? I bet you that is probably where the problem lies.

How do I refresh the list of preview images?

No worries, in CS5 it is Edit->Preferences->Performance and I think it was the same in CS2, so it should be the same for you too.

Well in my suggestion you have to look again your back up location or storage area. If the problem doesn't resolve then install the software again might be having an issue in it or it might be corrupted.
