Along the same line as Chris, I must ask whether or not the low key effect was truly intentional. I ask because in my experience, while sophisticated viewers like Chris might find this look artistically satisfying -- a nice change from the normal eye-popping colors and contrast we are used to seeing, I can tell you that the vast majority of people will assume you simply didn't know how to take a good picture and ignore the image. If it is indeed an intentional look, could you share some of your thoughts about it.

I'm a professional photographer with an artistic approach.
I was not after a picture for a catalogue of plants.

I like the dim look you created, but I still miss a certain level of increased contrast over this. Something just don't have enough snap for me, and I am an experienced artist who loves abstract and have an appreciation for photography. (even if not the best photographer myself) So I don't think I am being parochial in my view. But that's IMHO.
