All the time and effort you expended for the fantasy scene is completely obscured by the portal! You could have just used a simple stock image instead of wasting your time. The "below" water imagery was a waste, considering the percentage of the final image it occupies.

The area outside the portal is entirely too dark (and purple), it's almost impossible to visualize the boys real environment. Fantasy is, after all, escape.

My eye is instantly drawn to that cheesy blue dragon! Take it out completely or find a better one!

The portal made from leaves (or feathers) would be more fitting of a forest scene.

A pretty good concept but needs major work. I applaud the effort you made only to cover it up!

I say, do away with the portal and stick with the fantasy scene! You did a great job with that!

Thanks for your time to comment on this. I wasn't sure on the cheesy blue dragon myself. But I made him look cheesy on purpose to indicate that he is not from the real world. But I guess that didn't worked out as intended. I can follow with the other comments too except for the purple look :), but I guess I just love purple. The fantasy scene was actually a seperate work and decided to use it in this one and merged them into one speedart. I had kind of a floating problem with the left rock I didn't know how to resolve. So the whole idea was to camouflage it with the head of the boy and the portal.
