You can use the Pen tool to select the area. and Just add the Black color to it. Then change the Blending mode to the desired levels of opacity to regain the shadows and curves.

CHeers !!!

Welcome ardi1.

As a newcomer at PSGurus, may I point you to these guidelines ....
[h=3]IMPORTANT ::: Guidelines for Free Image Edit Requests[/h]
This is a Photoshop discussion forum not an image editing site. There may be members here willing to help out with the edit. But normally, we would assist people by walking them through the steps involved in doing this in Photoshop.

Uhmm hey, this is actually my first post on this forum, my photoshop skills are REAAAALLY limited, but I've given a try now, and this is probably not the most realistic outcome if it was painted in black, but here you go :P

Welcome to the forum , merlinman.

You may be new, this as your first post and have limited Photoshop skills.

But you have initiative. And I bet you have initiative and desire to learn more. You're in good company.

Enjoy your time here.

PS.... open a hello thread in the Newbies area....
