Use the "rounded rectangle" tool, which is a vector tool to create the shape automatically. (Just make sure it's set to "Shape layer" in the options bar.)

Then bring the photo into that document, make sure it's the layer above the rounded rectangle, and press "Ctrl-G" to group those together.

Welcome to the forums, Klakka.

The tool of choice for me would be the rounded rectangle tool, one of the vector shape tools found in the flyout menu next to the pen tool. (#1)

I'd make sure that Paths option was active in the Tool Options Bar (#2) so I would just draw a path around the face. The corner radius is selected in pixels. (#3).

As you draw your path, you can move it into place by holding down the space bar as you are drawing it out. Holding down the space bar stops the actual path draw and the movement of the mouse just moves the path as it is currently drawn.

Once you have your path in place, go to the Paths palette and, at the bottom is a button (third from the left) which is Load Path as Selection. Once you have a selection, you could copy the face to a new layer and drag that to a different document or manipulate it however you wish.
