Please Help... Subaru STi

I nee help removing the background from the image leaving just the car. I have attempted in CS3 but just don't have what it takes. I would appreciate any help. I will include the original image. I plan on using the finished product on a project that I have been working on for my car navigation system. The car image will serve as the navigation arrow once the background is removed. Thanks in advance. I prefer the first image but wouldn't mind both if any of you experts could spare a little of your time.

I do stuff differntly then most, but I would zoom into around 150-200% grab the pal. lasso tool and use short clicks/strokes and cut it out for a nice clean crisp image.
Should take maybe 5 minutes for a great pic of just the car.

Thanks man....I tried but no luck. Could anyone possibly help me out. In addition, it would be cool to have the taillights look like they are lit up. Can that be added as well?

You need to use the pen tool to remove the background, that's the only way to do this to get optimum results.

Liek RedEye said, use the pen tool.

I appreciate everyones help but when I attempt the image comes out jagged and looks bad. I guess you must need the hands of s surgeon. At this point I would really appreciate if someone skilled would thoroughly remove the background from the first image.

Thanks in advance.

In the past I've always (1) created a duplicate copy (I like to play safe), (2) zoomed up to a portion of the image near where I want to remove stuff, and (3) used the Polygonal tool to eat away at the stuff. I generally do this after duplicating the target layer, and after adding a layer just under the target layer and adding to that temporary background layer the color that I want.

after the pen tool, use the eraser tool, with a small size, and if you erase the "sharp" edges, it cleans it up nice! For parts that dont look so perfect, i use the blur yool, and it works great!

Paid? Isn't a forum a place to get help, not where some greedy person takes advantage of somebody for a quick photoshop job? I've seen many people help because they want to lend a hand. If that is what this forum is about.....Then it's not for me. I'll find somewhere else.
