I'm not only new here on this forum but new to Photoshop as well. Not complete a newbie though I have been using it for at least a year. I started using it out of necessity and desperation. I play bass in a band in coos bay Oregon, and the need to make posters was pressing. My wife had a copy of Photoshop 6. That's right 6 not CS6, so I started to use it to make the posters. I struggled with it for a couple of months until my son a junior in high school at the time and tech enthuses, introduces me to the layers pallet. My addiction started at that point. Now with a new PC w/ Windows 7 and CS6 my hunger is becoming insatiable. I'm excited to be able to use this forum and hope to become part of the Photoshop community, not just a forum voyeur. Please keep in mind that proper spelling is an optional feature with me.
 
Hello Chumley! Welcome to the forum! Don't worry, your spelling won't be an issue...........it's your punctuation that needs to be perfect! Like you, I also have a severe Ps addiction! Hope to see you around. Don't be shy either, jump right in!
 
Hi chumley, welcome to PSG. You'll find lots of guidance and tips here and answers to your questions.

I started with PS5.5 in windows and PS6 in mac. It's been quite a journey, and most all of my improvement happened after I joined the forum a couple years ago.
