Playing with text in photoshop

Mkay, well I started with a grungy background, overlayed with a gradient. I then chose a suitable font and typed the word groovy. I altered the opacity and added some glow effects then duplicated the layer several times, using the transform tool to alter the size and thickness of each layer to give the effect you see. After that I created a tile pattern and placed it on the bottom half of the image and used the transform perspective tool to make it look realistic. Then I merged all the text layers together, duplicated it, mirrored it and lowered the opacity to make it like a reflection. I added some simple flowers in the background using painbrushes and burnt the edges of the image so the focus was in the center. :)

Hahaha. I didn't use a tutorial. I used to so I learnt a whole bunch of things that I used when making this. :)

I know I've seen these before. Especially the grass one. A graphics teacher posted it on PSG for the gurus' help as she had a problem part of the way through it. The text said earth. Fess up Shai. No problem ya know; we love tutorials. And your text looks great, groovy even

Oh, haha. I thought you were talking about the top one. Yeah, I used a tutorial for the earth one but the others I didn't.

Agree monstermasher - http://psd.tutsplus.com/tutorials/text-effects-tutorials/create-a-layered-glowing-text-effect/ nothing wrong with using TUTS or help, but not to good to take sole credit, tut tut.

My god! I already said that I DID use a tutorial for the earth one, I never said I didn't. But I swear on my LIFE that I have never seen either of those other tutorials and my work looks nothing like them! If you're going to ATTACK me on this forum for things you claim I have lied about, which I have not - the I may as well just find a different forum.

The only thing similar is the tiles and the reflection, of which I do a lot of as I love reflections. The layering of the words are completely different and I didn;t even know there was a tutorial out there showing how to do that. Look, all of you might think that I used a tutorial when I didn't. Is it really hard to just accept I'm telling the truth and move on?! I was expecting to join this forum and be greeted and welcomed by friendly photoshoppers but instead the first thing that happens is that I am accused of 'taking credit' for work that is supposedly not mine. Believe what you like but I think I'm going to move on from this forum and find other people who actually believe me when I say my work is my own.

No ones saying the works 'not your own', people are just catching you out as to how you learned the knowledge of.
Me...i couldn't give a figs pips either way, but to not admit that it's from PSDTUTs is a little silly really.
