I am getting some pixel drop-out in shadow areas when using HDR Pro and selecting "Remove Ghosts". The problem occurs with 16-bit and 32-bit iterations (8-bit not tested) in both Photoshop CC and Photoshop CS6. All 5 component raw files exhibit no problems.
The pixel drop-out exhibits as random groups of pixels that present only black regardless of the actual color of the pixel in the source files.
The drop-out only occurs when "Remove Ghosts" is selected. Drop-out occurs whether object is "ghosting" (moves) or not. In one image of an historic building the floor joists exhibited the drop-outs - both the building and camera were quite stable.
Problem appears to only occur in moderate to heavy shadow areas.
Problem is independent of use of the GPU for calculations and occurred with Preferences -> Performance -> Graphics Processor Settings -> Use Graphics Processor checked or unchecked.
The computer uses an Intel i7 w/12G Ram and an Nvidia GTX 295. I have not ruled out a hardware issue, but haven't figured what it could be.
I'm stumped, any ideas?
