Picture within a fingerprint

Hi there,
I'm just new to Photoshop, but have found this forum a great help - thanks!
I discovered the attached image online - a pic of dog within a fingerprint. I've done something similar by converting black and white image to bitmap with a halftone screen, but the halftone screens are pretty limited. Wondering if I could make my own halftone screen using the fingerprint pattern?
Does anyone know if that's possible or how to do it? Or is there a better way?

Just quick and dirty

Take fingerprint image, wrap it in Smart Object and add Minimum filter with dog image as a filter mask.
Add Threshold layer to turn it all to black and white.
You can also try Maximum filter and/or inverting the filter mask to find the look you like.
