I have a photo and I want to just paste it into Illustrator just long enough to use the eyedropper tool and grab a couple of colors from it and then I will not need the photo anymore. I am new to Illustrator. Brand new. Like I just started tonight. Unlike Photoshop I cannot simply Paste as New image, grab some colors, add them to the palette and close the image.

How can I accomplish this in Illustrator?
