Would be nice, but don't hold your breath. Do you remember that amazing motion blur demo some years ago? It took at least three major releases before it was available as Shake Reduction under the Sharpen filters, but it was nothing like the demo. Do you remember that extract shadows sneak peak from MAX 2015 (I think)? That could have been incredibly useful, but I have heard that it has been dropped because they couldn't get it to work well enough to release. That was a big disappointment to me.
My impression is that Adobe have been putting maximum effort into new features that make Adobe Stock more and more irrisistable in recent years. Do you remember the Grand Masters project from last year, where users like Jesus Rameriz were tasked with reproducing lost works of art using Adobe Stock? And the Sneek that showed how a quick scribble would return amazingly good fit Stock images, or this years Sneek that shows Content Aware Fill using intelligent Stock images to fill in the hole? There are several more examples, and all very nice except that every time you hit the Accept button, it costs you about the same as a months subscription to the Photography plan.
Then there's TypeKit which started out great, but very quickly became revamped into a revenue earner by removing fonts that came with previous versions of Photoshop, and only allowing 10 sync'd fonts with a basic plan. You can pay US$400 a month for the top business plan with TypeKit.
What I am saying here is that features that don't add to their bottom line, might not get the same attention as those that do.
