Photoshop tools "guide"?

I have photoshop 7 but folks know there are versions newer than the one I have.
Is there a guide that explains what is able to be done with each version?

I hear there's a "refine edge" tool in newer versions but I don't know if that can be used at all in version 7 or earlier.

Here's a tutorial that explains how you can use the select menu in Ps 7 to refine your edge (selections) which is similar to what refine edge does in newer versions.

DaveD, Hoogle's advice is good. I have used the selection menu to fix things before. Another option for you to consider would be subscribing to Adobe Cloud for about ten dollars a month. Then you can upgrade for a fairly manageable amount of money. Or you can consider finding a legit copy of a later version that someone might want to sell since upgrading to cloud or something like that. Don't buy a pirated version. They have all sorts of functional problems and you can't get Adobe help if it isn't a registered copy. Whatever you do, good luck and have fun learning!
