Photoshop Settings Help

Somehow my settings got changed and I cannot create transparent gradients or color overlay lines. I tried cntrol+cmd+shift when opening photoshop and that deleted all my settings but still not able to do this. Please help

I can't duplicate your problem.
What are the settings on the gradient tool bar, you're showing the color picker tool bar.

Have you checked the transparency box in the top tool options?

Does your whole document go black? What version of PS are you using. CS6 has some bugs you should be able to fix with updates. Sometimes clicking on a layer will allow the actual image to appear, but it's not a fix and will be very annoying. There are some preference settings you can change but they may interfere with some things you want to do later. Let me know if it is cs6.
