Hi ,

I am simply trying to create a new 200x200 pix logo. the text and shapes are jaged as I create them and worse as I publish them. Is there a tutorial out there for this? Why would this be a problem to create out of the box?

Maybe I am confused, but when you title this as you did, are you resizing or are you just attempting to render a new image? If you are resizing then there are certain protocols that need to be followed. Maybe, and I may be over-stepping your quest, but maybe you are only enlarging the canvas and not resizing the image? If this is the case, then you're going to end up with jagged edges as the you are only "blowing-up" the picture, or for an example, looking at the newspaper with a magnifying glass. If you want to resize, follow this:

Image> Image Size or if inclined, alt + ctrl + I
Use the following options for best results.

Pixel Dimensions Make sure the H and W boxes are locked together
Change the setting to Percent and then go up to 110% at a time.
I leave the "Document Size" area alone and the check boxes at the bottom all checked. I also use Bicubic (Best for smooth gradients)

One more thing. In the "Document Size" area, there is a box entitled Resolution. If you are using print media, that should be set to at least 300, but if this is for web, 72 is fine.

Hope this helps. :D

Thanks quixote0,

I start by creating a new image W 200 and H 200 pixels. Resolution 300 P/I, Color mode RGB Color. 8 Bit, Background Transparent.

Next I add the Text "ALS" , font "ST MicroSquare" Bold and 24 pt smooth.
The text is jaged at this point?

Also, adding a rectangle the border is jaged. I found if i resize to a larger deminsion the problem is solved but i need an image size of 200x200 when complete. resizing down just brings the problem back?
