Photoshop logo for After Effects

Howdy partner, Im trying to make an intro for my YouTube channel. Wanted to use a free template for after effects but I have to change the logo. I make logo in Photoshop export to PNG and it's useable in AE? Also, is it easy to put that logo into AE and use the previous logo's effects?
