Photoshop Keeps Closing?

It doesn't give an error like when it usually crashes, it just closes sometimes. possible GPU overheat causing this?

overheating usually restarts the whole system, or gives the BSO alltogether with system beeps.

true, true, i've had games minimize on me before and someone said that it's the graphic card was under too much load that's why i asked about the overheat.

that was an old GeForce6200LE, got an AMD radeon HD 4550 now it's not powerful for gaming but this PC wasn't built for hardcore gaming,

Make sure your video driver is up to date.


Turn off Edit|Preferences|Performance|Use Graphics Processor


Try resetting the preferences file.
It cures a lot of strange behavior in PS.


Start Photoshop and immediately hold down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows)
or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS X).


Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"

nope i use ubuntu, but the error logs are all clear
