Hello guys, i would really appreciate some help with a problem thats been bugging me for some time now as it has made my use of photoshop impossible. After dragging a picture from google suddenly all of my files have been grayscaled. The problem is everything in my settings is set to RGB colors, and the image>mode>grayscale is off. The channels seem to be fine also with them being set in RGB. I have tried everything i could find online but nothing seems to be working. I have tried restarting my computer/ photoshop several times and it wont do anything. I would gladly appreciate some help.

Thank you!

Here is a thought! Open Photoshop, go up to your menu bar, go to the IMAGE tab, and make sure the MODE is set to RGB. You may have already tried this, but this was the first possible fix that popped into my noggin'. Let me know if it worked.

Thank you for replying! Unfortunately i have tried that several times and it is not working. While the mode is indeed ticked and set in RGB everything is still grayscaled

Do you have a setting somewhere that is making Photoshop desaturate everything?
not that i know of? would you know a way i could check it? What's frustrating is that it was working fine all this time, it only happened as i created a new file and dragged an image onto it

You could test by using 'file/open' instead of dragging the file in PS and see if it makes any difference...

i have tried it, but everything seems to be permanently grayscaled now, all color is gone. It's weird cause it is saying that the mode is on RGB? Thanks for the reply though!

Have you tried resetting your preferences? ctrl/cmd-alt/opt-shift on PS startup?

after some fiddling around i managed to get it done, i reset the preferences on quit, i feel so stupid i didnt do this before! thank you for your help!

Try clearing out your clipboard. Many times you will have text or something stored int he clipboard which can cause things to be set to grayscale.
