Photoshop for Linux?

Not sure if this goes here or not, but does anyone know if there will be a Linux Photoshop? RedHat and Mandrake come with The GIMP, but I have yet to hear anythink about a Linux version. \:]

Probably not. I suppose that the Gimp does works fine, but unless Linux accepts the PS version for Apple's OSX, I don't think there is much hope. Unfortunately...
Unless of course, you run a conversion app...

An Adobe employee wrote in Adobe's Photoshop newsgroup several months ago, that Adobe has no intentions to create Photoshop for Linux. I can't exactly remember what Adobe's reasoning was, but I do remember that it made perfect sense (maybe I can find that old post).

But like I said, that's what I read a while back.

The same reason any major computer company does anything. It wouldn't make them enough money to bother.

That brings up an interesting thought. I know that you can compile any *nix app to run natively on OSX if it supports the darwin core. Has anyone heard about being able to use OSX apps on the other versions of darwin? I know you wouldn't be able to just slap the mac version onto a darwin computer because of the ties to Aqua, but still... it seems like it's theoretically possible... I'd be amazed that someone hadn't tried by now. ;)
