Photoshop Elements 9 -- where has magnetic lasso tool vanished to?

Hi, sorry if I am overlooking something obvious, but... I have used the magnetic lasso tool in the past. Now, however, it does not appear in my toolbar, rather only the ordinary lasso does. In the help file it unhelpfully tells me to click the magnetic lasso icon which does not appear for me. Any ideas? Advice much appreciated.

I don't use Elements but it should be under the other tool. Left click and hold to see the other tools. A small black triangle in the corner of the tool icons indicates there are others below it.
