Photoshop CS6 standard OR extended

Hi Everyone,

I have used various versions of Photoshop in the past but haven't purchased for a long time. I have decided to bite the bullet and buy CS6. I was contemplating Elements as I'm a relative novice but I can appreciate all the neat functionality of CS6 and I love watching youtube tutorials LOL.

My questions is this. Can someone tell me what the difference between Standard approx $700 vs Extended approx $200 is??? Is Extended an upgrade but you need an earlier version?

I've googled for hours and can't find a straight answer. Not even on Adobe's website.

Appreciate your help.

Thanks for the prompt response but I'm still not understanding why you'd purchase one over the other i.e. Extended is cheaper - why wouldn't you just buy that? SORRY! Clearly this is a stupid question.

Prices below, Extended is more expensive, your paying for the extra features in the Extended edition

Extended does offer more features such 3d where as normal photoshop doesnt.

My real question is why buy cs6 and not cc You can buy adobe photoshop and lightroom for $9.99 a month and will always allow you to update it to the latest version which every 3 months or so they release an update with some new tools etc.
