Greetings,
This is my first ever post to this forum and well any forum for photoshop.
I am following this tutorial to draw some dice:-
http://www.rnel.net/tutorial/Photoshop/6331
I noticed it's for a different version of photoshop as Ctrl+Click to get the selection is Crl+Click on the thumbnail in the layout manager.
Firstly it seems odd the first step is too create a gradient and then a new layer and another gradient. As the first gradient is never used, even in later stages??
The REAL problem I'm having is working with gradients in different layers.
I can't complete this instruction successfully:-
Apply this gradient on the bottom half of the shape.
When I select the main shape (Crl+Click on the thumbnail) in the main layer and in the new layer apply a gradient, should the image change or do I have to fill the selection area on the layer?
Secondly I don't seem to be able to apply the filter just to the bottom.
I change my selection, and have a gradient with colours with opacity set to 0% on either side and a colour in the middle but for some reason the graident is a sold fill.
I expected only the middle colour with opacity to be shown and to appear over the gradient in the layer underneath.
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks
Rob
