Hey everyone. is there a way having the girl on the left getting closer to the other person? (it doesn't look proportioned right...) Thank you for your help image.jpg

Great! That's a good news! At Least now I know it's possible. Any chance you can explain how I go about using content aware scaling?

johnsilvia, don't get me wrong, but as of lately you've bombarded this forum with pretty much similar requests.

For me it lookes like you overstaid your welcome.

I really don't know if you R some kind ov related to Rachel Franco Photograhpy but it's kinda strange to go all the trouble of making all those changes postfactum rather then shooting it the way you'd wanted it in the first place.

Really, I just don't get it! Now it's background, now it's reflection, now it's moving persons...

What are you really after?

Have you tried Googling that phrase?

T

PS - Someone posted between us. The phrase I suggest you Google is,

{content aware scaling tutorial}.

ill google it right now.

i really prefer not to argue here. I simply need help in photoshop and you guys have been more than great and helpful.

thank you a bunch!

There is nothing wrong with people coming here repeatedly for help as long as it stays in the help category and not can you do this for me.

Like always anyone coming to learn is always welcome and we appreciate that you get the help needed. And yes occassionally we will do the odd request.

In this case I am not sure what your problem is to me it looks natural as she is a smaller girl I assume if you make her bigger then it wont be a true reflection of the family.

That said these kind of things happen if you use the wrong lens or focal length you will want to use lens correction filter maybe which will fake the focal length but dont over do it as it will look even more unnatural then it is now.

The photographer needs to get down at the level they want to shoot more it looks they have used a wide telephoto lens maybe from a slight upwards angle the telephoto part will contract the edges slightly

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with the composition/arrangement of the girls. The one on the left can't move much closer without being in the larger girl's lap. And if you meant the girl on the right who is hanging out a bit, I believe that is intentional and it is IMO a good balancing factor.

In case anyone is interested, FWIW, I don't get the opportunity to play around with the content-aware scaling feature very often, so I tried it for the requested edit.

Unfortunately, it didn't work as easily or as well as I had hoped. It required quite a bit of diddly work to get the background and other areas looking half-way decent. My take on it is that it's probably just as much work to move the girl by conventional means, e.g., select her, move her and fill in the hole that was left. To be honest, I just didn't feel like doing any more work on this, so I didn't even bother to deal with the feet and the bottom of the dress of the 2nd girl from our right.

That being said, obviously, the best way to have done this was at the stage of posing the group, before the shutter button was even touched. ;-)

@clare - WRT composition, I understand what you mean about balance, but I also like the look of the slightly tighter group that results from moving her in a bit.

I thought about doing that also. Either way, I think it works. But it's a matter of personal preference. I happen to like images that have a touch of assymetry, but that's just me. But you did a nice job. Half the time as I go about fixing something, it takes more fiddle-faddling around than I first thought. That's seems to be the way of most jobs, artistic or otherwise. IM-not-so-HO.

7 minutes work , obviously not perfect but thought id give you a start if you want to use it

i simply selected and moved the girl then cloned the areas needed to fill in , around her knee needs some work to blend in more but i cant do it all for you lol , hint add some shadows to here leg to ground her

i would reposition the text too centered beneath them
