Got problems with the Docked and Tabed behaviour of images ? Takes a while to get used to.
If so - go to panel Preferences. On PC = Edit -> Preferences. On Mac = Photoshop -> Preferences.
Go to tab Interface (below tab General).
In section "Panels and Documents" - uncheck "Open Documents as Tabs" and "Enable Floating Document Window Docking".
Klick OK and relaunch Photoshop.
Now your images opens in separate free floating windows that won't dock.
You can get Free Floating Windows on the fly too.
In the top of the interface to the right of the Menu Bar there's a button - "Arrange Documents".
Klick it open and in the menu there's an option of "Float All in Windows".
If this is not what you ment, please try to be more specific.
