Photos imported from lightroom are noisey, grainey today, but not yesterday

I just imported several photos from lightroom as I've always done, using Cntrl E. These are raw photos that I am reprocessing (the originals) and they are not noisy in LR 5.2 or the tiffs I did previously were not noisy. I guess noise is the best way to describe it, that or way oversharpened. However when I zoom in they look fine.
I've been using CS 6 in the CC system for over a month now, not had this problem, and this morning is the first time I've seen this so I'm assuming I changed something without knowing it.
I was doing quite a bit of work with images in Premiere last night but didn't change anything but the size. I also did quite a bit of processing yesterday in CS 6 but can't see how that would change my monitor display characteristics.
Out put is fine but it's really tough to properly sharpen under the current conditions.
Thanks for replies.

Now the selection tool has slowed for down it's useless. last time it did that I had the caps lock on, simple fix. No such luck this time.

FIXED IT. Had to reset my preferences, any one else has this problem see

However I could not find the preference file via Windows 7 as Julie said. Had to use the ctrl alt shift key when restarting then hit yes, went back to cs6 standard preferences. I've had to do the same thing in premiere twice. This CC is getting overwhelming.
