Hello,

I was wondering if the shortcut CTRL+ALT+2 still works in CS6? Whenever I hold these three keys down at the same time nothing happens. Is it my PS that is playing up? I have used this shortcut several times in CS5!

It should work to view the entire RGB or CMYK channel..... provided you've selected any of the other channels beforehand. Try it.... CTRL+ALT+3 .... CTRL+ALT+4 ..... then CTRL+ALT+2

CTRL+ALT+2, CTRL+ALT+3, or CTRL+ALT+4 doesn't do anything. :( Whenever I hold down CTRL+ALT a little menu icon appears next to it. I'm so confused. I don't suppose you could tell me how I could perform this task through the menus? I only learnt through the shortcut way.

WHOAH.... what was I thinking..... lol.... my bad.

As hawkeye mentioned , CTRL+ALT+2 is a shortcut for loading channel as a selection.

You may have to check the Keyboard shortcuts to see if that is what is loaded for it. ... EDIT>Keyboard Shortcut...

Tracy, try alt + command + 2. Is this what your wanting?

General Statement
Yes, editing your shortcuts can be beneficial too. You can make assignments of keys to your liking. For example, I never liked the shortcut of using [ and ] to change my brush size. So I edited them in the panel to use S and D to S (size is the way I remember it) to make bigger and D to decrease. I forget exactly what they did before, but they were things I rarely used a shortcut for, so I swapped them with the brackets. The S and D are a lot easier for me to put my hand on with my laptop.

According to this website, in CS5......

Ctrl+Alt+2 It selects tonal range higher than 50% (look at the histogram).
You can easily reverse it with Ctrl+Shift+I
