Hey Shoppers...

I'm wondering if there's any way to fix the left side of this photograph. I've tried a few ways but keep hitting a brick wall.

Any suggestions or ideas will be appreciated.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Mike, but I have to agree with what John said.

The only way to do deal with a situation like this is a lot of time-consuming reconstructive surgery -- ie, synthesizing (or stealing) material to replace the totally zero'ed out areas.

Here's about the best I could do in 5 or 10 min of using normal photo editing tools (ie, no replacement material), and IMHO, it's not really any better. My guess is that you probably did this well or better yourself.

Thanks Tom for your efforts.....

It's a lot better than my attempt. And thanks to everyone else how posted.

Since all the detail has been totally destroyed on the right (his right) side of the face, the best you can hope for it to copy the left side to the right, and hand paint it so it looks natural in relation to the light source. Unless you are a gifted digital painter, and have another image of the guy for reference so you can paint in the detail, there isn't much you can do.
