What do you think?

This is the original file I took myself.

And this is the result.

Now I know how to attach photos to the post...so next time I will upload better.

I think you made five bogus posts to put a link into the sixth instead of attaching the picture into the first one.

Good comments, both. We much prefer to see you upload an image than to follow a link. You'll get more feedback that way. But I will tell you, a lot of members are sensitive to giving commentary on work without knowing what raw material was used. This is why we really like to see the before and after on this type of manipulation, or the multiple components that went into a complex composition. So, if you would, we'd all appreciate it.

Ok cool...I see what you've done now lol.

It's a basic manipulation. Maybe next time cut out the model and maybe add her to a different background. I made one the other day similar to this where the light from the fire is the main focal point (I used a candle). I only say cut the model out so you can manipulate the background more to your liking and equally the model.

It's a decent piece, so well done.

Too dark, lost all of it's detail and the flames look silly.

Was not being nasty, but that is how i see the manip.
Just think about what you are doing and ALWAYS do little instead of more.

I would see the reason to darken the background, to focus on the flames more, but fire carrier cannot be dark.

Maybe adding some orange/yellow fall-off light from the flame around the hand area, that might help.

Maybe replace the flame with a ball of light or a glowing fairy. Telling us how experienced you are at photoshop might also help. Cheers.
