I am beating my head in the ground.....

I pick up the pen tool and click three points to make a curved line....point A, B, C. All are what we call anchor points.

Then, I click another tool and realize I need to draw more curves extending from point "C".....BUT when I click the pen tool again it WILL NOT use anchor point "C" as the beginning, instead it starts fresh.

I want to proceed from anchor point "C". No matter what tool or procedure I cannot get the pen tool to start from "C"

thanks for saving my life hahaha!:naughty:

select the path.
right click the pen too icon, and go to add 'anchor point'

click where you want to on the path. done!

If I click the path and then 'add anchor point' and I click the last anchor point(point C) I get an error saying you have to click on the path.

I attached the point at which I want to continue the pen tool.

I don't know what to do step by step to get the pen tool to start at that point and have two handles

Make sure the path is selected. Place the pen tool over the end anchor point, you should see a minus sign. Click and continue.

The top one is continuous pen tool clicking.

The bottom is when I do what you said....it continues from that point but the anchor that I am starting from on has one handle and you can see the difference.

Thanks

Click the point. If you want to continue the curve going up, click and drag up.

The - (minus) icon deletes an anchor point and the add anchor point does exactly that, but not on the end of an existing path.

You need the work path selected (so you can see it) and with the pen tool selected, hover over the end of the path until you see the Chain icon (bottom left in the image below) click and you are good to go.

Closer....

In the bottom picture I selected the path and then used the pen tool normally but had to drag down and you CAN see it creates a longer handle BUT at LEAST this lets me continue from this point.

As the last poster said I should use the chain tool....this is what I did in the 1st pic. That highlights the last anchor point nicely with two handles, BUT then you cannot proceed from that point....ie. if you then try the pen tool it starts fresh.

Thanks

Notice when you hover on an end point the minus sign is diagonal to continue the path, whereas hovering over a mid-point the minus sign is horizontal to delete the point.

I think when you want to start back at an old anchor point you have to click and drag down to re-create that handle, which is fine, but I'm curious if there is a way to make it the same size as the opposite handle.
