Hi all, I have a scanned PDF document of a magazine, the front cover of which I would like to make into a poster (approx 24x36 inches).

In addition to converting the PDF to an image, I need the image retouched, some elements removed, and some colours changed. I don't envisage this taking a talented photoshop 'guru' more than an hour. I will pay around 20 USD for this, but will depend on what is required and what is possible, so final price to be discussed on an individual basis.

The PDF document is fairly large (180MB), please PM me to receive download link, and to discuss the project.

Many thanks all,

Charlie

You will not be able to use the pm function at the moment you need a limited amount of posts and the person that can over ride it is not online at the moment so post the link here as our rules state that all freelance work must make initial contact on the thread anyway.

You may have to add a * instead of . or just take the . outs and leave a space and if it is genuine file I will make the link clickale.

Ok so here is the inspiration for this idea:

And here is the pdf of the mag:

dl dropbox com/u/6182549/pb_11_67 pdf

as you will se from the pdf, there is a fair but of image restoration to do, the scan is not very colour rich. the blacks are washed out, and the edges are blurry. all to be fixed (i hope)

oh and I first need to get confirmation that it is atall feasibly. is the pdf able to be blown up to 36x24 inches..?

Yeah it can be done, just downloaded it (in 35 seconds thank you fios lol)
I'm working on it right now, It should be delivered within the hour.

Although the scaling will be slightly off because the magazine image has a different scaling than the desired printout.
There is nothing you can do about scaling problems unless a new picture is taken to scale... In your case it is hardly noticeable at all anyways.

I thought this had been completed no?

I hope not haha, I've already got over 70% progress :O

noone has yet provided me with a complete image. My specific demands, are to achieve pretty much the exact image in the 'inspiration'. This means changing the "PLAYBOY' text colour to cream/off white, and the background of the text above/right of it to baby blue. I also would like the "stars" in the 'P' of PLAYBOY to be removed (filled in).

another point is to achieve sufficient darkness. I can see from the 'inspiration' that the artists has turned up blackness to the max, essentially removing all detail on the 'guys' jacket (the cuff buttons are not visible), although this is not desirable, it is the less of two evils, between this and having a 'fuzzy black' background.

finally regarding scaling, I will have to send this image to a professional printer who will only serve to print in discrete sizes. Can the image be cropped (from the bottom) to achieve the desired (standard) aspect ratio?

Here is the image, with a watermark of course(until payment goes through)

Note that the image host I used distorted the image a bit becaue it was over 10MB (it is 16MB), but when (if) you pruchase my edit I will deliver it to you in full quality via .ZIP archive download.
The image is 24x36 @130ppi

Do not worry about the scalling, it really is not noticeable.

FYI you can upload files upto 22 MBs directly in the thread it may not show up as full size but once you or anyone clicks on it it will open up another window with higher quality and click it again it will open it up at 100% with a zoom cursor.
