I have CS6 (32 and 64 bit), and the latest update, win7 ultimate x64, radeon HD5750. When I draw a path and write on some text and then choose any tool, the path disappear. I tried check out "use graphic processor" and don't use.

When you choose any tool, the path disappears.

It is supposed to. The path still exists. Open the paths pallette, you will see the work path; take the text tool, click within the text and the path will appear as a second path for the text.

Is your problem something different? Why are you wanting to see the path?

Hi koli, not sure why the path is disappearing but, go to your PATHS panel and highlight the path again. You can also deselect the path by clicking in the bod of the panel.

Clare beat me to it! She's right. If you try to, let's say, type on a path. The path will disappear as soon as you click on it to type. The type will still follow the path. You can always turn it back on.

Thank you for your help. I didn't use to use the pen tool and paths. In a video tutorial they put a text on a path, and the path didn't disappear.

When you click off the path or begin a new one, it will disappear. Be sure you have the paths pallette active so you can see the paths you are creating. If you begin a new one without saving the first, you will lose the first. You save a path by double-clicking it and giving it a name. Then any new path will start separately. If you click in the empty space below the path or click on a different path, you are clicking off of it; it will disappear on the canvas and the new one will show. One path at a time. When you intend to work on a path, to move points or handles, click on it to activate it and you'll see it again. Likewise, click on it to make a selection of the path you have created, either to mask the object you have traced or to stroke it, etc.

Forgot you were talking about text. The work path will remain and like IamSam said, once you select the type again, you will see the text path in the paths palette.
