My intent here is to just create a scene that could be attractive printed. Not anything with a lot of effects or anything, just practice making this type of image to see what could come out. I used a couple of freebie stocks from The Morque file and a handful of downloaded brushes.

Brushes used : Spanish Moss II by Midnight Touch,Birds of a Feather by Midnight Touch,SS-light Beams and SS Trees by Obsidian Dawn, Tree Borders by forestgirl, Waterbrushes by Ailedda.
Here the background stock FYI

I like this alot....

It has a good amount of depth from the silhouettes in the foregrond and the blurred background. Lighting in nice as well.

Very impressed.

Oh, the ducks could do with some more work though.

Thanks Inkz, I messed with those damn ducks until I got tired..so whatcha got is it! LOL

Hoping for some more comments...good or bad will work. Thanks

I like the copper plate etched almost effect, very vibrant colours also.

Great ALB. It would also make a very attractive wallpaper. I agree with Inkz about the ducks. They need shadows and reflections. Also the largest drake has a blurry head. I would just mask that a bit on the edges. I also think you used to much motion blur on him. It doesn't look right to me.

But I second both Inkz and Paul's positive comments.I love the colors and the juxtaposition of desaturated images and a narrow palette of color. Good work. Well worth the effort. Maybe you have found your current forte and a direction in which to continue for awhile. I look forward to seeing more like this.

Thanks for the comments. I'll take your advice. However. my intent was and actually applied a motion blur to the big duck. He is about to take flight, so I thought it appropriate but reckon I over did it. I have always loved the work of a South Carolina artist, Jim Booth, and I have several of his paintings. I actually got the idea for this one from one of his I have hanging on my wall. In case your not familiar with his work look at his web site http://www.jimbooth.com/
