paint effect help needed

hi can anyone help me with creating this effect from a distance its hard to see but close up it looks like canvas
ive tried a few things in photoshop cs4 but can't replicate it any help or tip would be great thanks

as in you want the canvas texture http://gs-designe.se/pattern/Canvas.jpg

throw that over your image and play around with the blending modes and opacity of the layer
