Hi everyone, I've an odd issue with a logo I've been tasked to design (I'm not a designer, but hey, be useful, eh?).

I want this:
1.PNG

from this:
2.PNG

and this:
3.PNG

which I achieve by creating a clipping mask from the circle on the slash, this gives me this:
4.PNG

which looks great! doesn't it? actually no, it doesn't:
5.PNG

What should I do to avoid this? I'm guessing that the mask is just that bit too small and cuts off too much of the slash.

How would others achieve what I'm trying to do?

Put the blue shape on top of the red circle. select both and use Pathfinder Minus Front.

Thanks for the reply.

I thought of that, but it's a little destructive for my liking; is that the only way? is there any way to do that and make it editable/repositionable?
